 OET TRAINING.

                                      The Occupational English Test (OET) is an English Language Test for healthcare professionals recognised by various regulatory healthcare bodies. It assesses the language test for healthcare professionals who wish to register and practice in an English- speaking environment. 

                               OET is used in UK, USA, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand and Singapore among others to assess the Medical English skills of a wide range of international healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses , pharmacists, dentists, vet and allied health professionals. The OET was established in the late 1980s and developed under contract to the Australian Government. The test has been researched and developed continuously since then to ensure that it has kept up with current theory and practice in language assessment. OET is held 14 times every year.

                                   The OET exam has been developed specifically for 12 healthcare profession : Dentistry, Dietetics, Medicine , Nursing, Occupational therapy, Optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy, podiatry, radiography, speech pathology and veterinary science. 

                                 These are 4 skills based papers: listening, reading, writing and speaking. The Listening and Reading papers are designed to assess a candidate's ability to understand spoken and written English, based on health-related topics and tasks common to all profession. The Writing and Speaking papers are designed to reflect common tasks performed in the workplace.

                             

   Even though the purpose of OET is to assess your English skills, the exam format as well as structured approach to writing and speaking modules make it virtually impossible to pass the OET exam without any preparation.
